Sweet Fellowship

We just got home (late) from spending the afternoon and evening with our new friends "The Strang Family". (I've posted about them before). Jaime Lyn has her violin lesson at their home in the forrest every Friday afternoon. The girls love playing "ship" with the Strang children and I love visiting with "Mrs. Strang" over decaf and chocolate chips (grain sweetened of course). Well, today since it was so warm I supervised the children to the creek that runs at the bottom of their property. It's quite a trek through 18 acres of forrest to get there, but it is so beautiful and private. The girls tromped through the creek and picked blackberries for me and the boys. They caught mini fish in their hands and had water fights. It was a picture-perfect summer afternoon. When we arrived back at the house they invited us for dinner (Jason left today for a men's retreat) and we gladly accepted. After dinner we all sat on the floor around the piano while Jordan (12) played all our favorite worship songs and hymns. They do this every night their Dad is home and not working at the fire station. Then they performed a skit they made up about gossip which was hilarious. I am so inspired to continue my girls' music lessons so we can experience the same evenings together as a family. Hogen played the bongos on a can between his legs during the singing...it was too funny! Thanks Strangs for a delightful evening with your creative and talented family. We are so glad the Lord has crossed our paths!
