Up Coming Events!

I'm taking my girls to see the premier of an original musical called "Chosen Destiny" at Mt. Hood Community College April 26th at 2pm. A young woman from our church wrote the script and all the music for it and I've heard it's going to be fantastic. You can purchase tickets online and have them mailed to you. Read the following info:

Trueheart Productions is a Christian, family-owned, non-profit organization that seeks to use the performing arts as medium to display the surpassing worth of Jesus Christ and share his gospel with others. Through open auditions, the company uses a cast of volunteer actors and actresses for its productions. MANY people from our congregations are involved and have put in huge amounts of time and energy into making this production successful. I want to encourage everyone who can, to support this production. Here is the link to order tickets: http://www.trueheartproductions.org/ Also, please pray for it's sucess--that God would be honored and glorified, that the participants would stay healthy, that the Word would go forth clearly to accomplish all that the Spirit would desire, listeners would be changed in heart and spirit.

Attending would be a blessing to all involved: a great "DATE NIGHT" idea and/or inspiration to young people for doing hard things.

Speaking of doing hard things...the twins from our church congregation, Alex and Brett Harris, have their book "Do Hard Things" available at bookstores starting tomorrow! Also their conference tour is coming to Portland May 3rd (more on that below).

This is what Randy Alcorn has to say about the book: “Do Hard Things” is an extraordinary book. In fact, I believe it will prove to be one of the most life-changing, family-changing, church-changing and culture-changing books of this generation .” Wow. I think I'll read it.

This is what the book is about:
The next generation stands on the brink of a "rebelution."

With over 16 million hits to their website TheRebelution.com, Alex and Brett Harris are leading the charge in a growing movement of Christian young people who are rebelling against the low expectations of their culture by choosing to "do hard things" for the glory of God.

Written when they were 18 years old, Do Hard Things is the Harris twins' revolutionary message in its purest and most compelling form, giving readers a tangible glimpse of what is possible for teens who actively resist cultural lies that limit their potential.

Combating the idea of adolescence as a vacation from responsibility, the authors weave together biblical insights, history, and modern examples to redefine the teen years as the launching pad of life and map a clear trajectory for long-term fulfillment and eternal impact.

Written by teens for teens, Do Hard Things is packed with humorous personal anecdotes, practical examples, and stories of real-life rebelutionaries in action. This rallying cry from the heart of revolution already in progress challenges the next generation to lay claim to a brighter future, starting today.

ROLLING HILLS COMMUNITY CHURCH
9AM-5PM, SATURDAY, MAY 3RD, 2008
Pre-Reg ends April 26th - $30 per teen, $20 per adult
They have spoken all over the country and now they are coming to their own home town. If you know anyone who has a teenager, tell them about this conference. It is for parents to attend with their teens. I know people who have attended it in other cities and they say it was "amazing".
