Birth Story

Ben looks at his baby sit-ter for the first time.

Our time at the hospital was great. I went in at 1pm with the girls and we met Daddy there since he works close to the hospital. Our room was ready and the nurses were waiting to get me going. By 2pm I had my IV and they started me on my strep B meds as well as pitossin at level 4. The girls played cards with Daddy while they waited for the action to start. By 3pm I was getting strong contractions about 2-3 minutes apart so I got my beloved epidural. It was the best one EVER! They have changed the meds and lightened the strength so I was able to feel and lift my body, but just not the pain. What a BLESSING!! So from there on out it was smooth sailing. At 5pm they upped my pitossin to 8 so when Dr. Sargent got off work and arrived at 6pm I was dialated to 5/6 cm. He broke my water at 6:10 and by 6:30 I was feeling pressure. The doctor knew it was time because of the baby's heartrate, so he checked me and I was READY! They got the room ready and his tray set up and with 3 gentle pushes she was out! Brie Ella jumped back when her head popped out! Jaime Lyn cut the cord with confidence and we announced to them her name.
During our hospital stay over 50 people came to wish us congradulations. This was the first time I've stayed in the hospital for 2 nights and I'm so glad I did. The transition to being home was so smooth and I was better prepared to be home without the nurses attention. I haven't needed to take any pain medication since the hospital and I'm feeling really good. PRAISE GOD!!

Oh thank you for sharing all the pictures! I love the one of you all together!!
I will certainly be praying for Mary Beth, to figure out her days and nights.
The picture above of Jason and Hogen with the coyote is too precious! I'd say Jason is quite a good shot to get the coyote in the dark.
Blessings!
