Going to UGANDA

My husband Jason is going to Uganda Africa in less than a month! We are very excited for his adventure to begin. He leaves Nov. 1st and will be gone for 17 days. He is going with a team of 70 people from the Salem/Portland area to minister to the refugees in Gulu Uganda.
The team will be doing a variety of different things; medical aid, well drilling, drama/music/evangelism, prison ministry, pastor training and anything and everything else! Jason will be serving wherever needed, probably helping with well drilling during the night shift and sharing the gospel in the prisons. (For more info on the team visit Reid Saunders Association.)People here in the USA (including ourselves) have no idea what poverty really means. No one in our country experiences this kind of life. The horrors these people (mostly women & children) have been through is the stuff of nightmares. There is a very real sense of evil and spiritual warfare that is more obvious than in our culture. Most of the men have been killed by rebel armies and those that remain have clustered together for years in these refugee camps to protect one another. Please begin to pray now for the people's hearts to be receptive to our help and the good news and for safety and good health. Jason just got his yellow fever shot on Friday and will be on malaria medication. We're starting to plan and think about packing. We're so excited for him to go! Let us know we can count on you to pray by commenting on this post!
