BIBLICAL Child Training

Tonight I gave a talk on "Biblical Child Training" to the precious women (young & old) in our church body. I spent over 10 hours studying the Bible to create my 12 page outline (plus all the time to organize and type it). Everything I wrote had to be supported by Scripture. I learned SO much putting it all together! My parenting has changed dramatically by doing this Bible study. I'd love to share my outline with anyone who is interested. The more people it could bless, the better! Pass it on.

I heard about your outline from the blog stay at home missionary and would love to have a copy emailed to me!! My email address is cssnyder@hotmail.com. I sometimes get lost in all that is going on around us, (Mother of 4 under age 7) and would like to see it! My husband and I are missionaries in Alaska and we work at a bible camp here. A lack of parenting is something that we see a lot of in the kids that come through our camps every summer. Thank you so much for taking the time to put this together. Can't wait to see it.

Kristi,
This outline is very thorough and very clear. Thank you for letting God's Word really speak for itself. I was encouraged and affirmed that the movement of our parenting with our school aged kids was a good one (focusing on the putting off and the putting on found in Col. 3 and Eph. 4). For my special needs kid I made a visual - a flannel Bible with a person that has clothes to put on: My way pants that are black and shirts that say "selfish" or "defiant," etc. The God's way pants are bright colors with shirts in lovely colors that are "kindness" or "obedient and honoring," etc. The face on the kid can be changed to being unhappy when "my way" is worn and then to happy when repentance and "God's ways" are put on.

My little guy really struggles when he is caught in his sin and the felt Bible comes out. But it really reveals his heart. I wait out the anger and when he is ready he will engage with the figure and clothes. The prayers of repentance and the joy of putting on the new self are cherished every time. Thank you for sharing your outline.
