TOUCH DOWN! "Welcome to Lusaka!" We watched the sun rise over Mt. Kilamonjaro this morning on our way from Kenya to Zambia. Even though we had been travelling for 32 hours we were giddy with excitment!! We just can't believe we are actually here! Steve & Tim picked us up at the little airport and drove us to the Allen's home to have lunch with most of the team. They decided it would be best for us to stay awake for the rest of the day to get adjusted so they drove us out to Ciyanjano/"the farm". It is so much more beautiful here than I expected. It is the rainy season so it is very humid and tropial. There are flowering trees and flowers everywhere you turn, just like in Hawaii. We drove past people breaking up rocks on the side of the road by hand to sell as gravel. We passed women with HUGE bundles on their heads with a baby wrapped to their back. We passed corn fields growing by the side of the road. The road out there is a true four wheel drive road!!
